Pritchards Bookshops on World Book Day 2010

IF you did not know, it was World Book Day in the UK and Ireland on Tuesday 4 March, 2010. The idea of World Book Day is to get more young people reading books. School children of all ages and some pre-school groups at participating schools were given support material including the World Book Day £1 Book Tokens. We popped over to Pritchards, Formby, who are one of the hundreds of book shops involved, to see the tokens being spent. For more information about the World Book Day charity and the event go to:- worldbookday.com and for more information about Pritchards go to pritchardseducation.tbpcontrol.co.uk.

DO YOU USE PASSWORDS?

DO you have a home computer that is connected to the internet by wireless?  We are advising all our readers to reminded the importance of securing all wireless network connections.  The simple use of a password will help keep your system safer and also stop people from logging on making your connection slower!  It has been recently noted by Merseyside Police that there are many unsecured networks in the Merseyside area making it very easy for anyone to log on to those venerable networks.  Once logged in a hackers to gain access to confidential information, use your internet account for accessing sites that are not ones you would want to access and worse. If you want more information about how to protect your computer, we will be adding a simple advice page on Mersey Reporter very soon. But you can always get very good advice from Get Safe Online via going to:- getsafeonline.org.
