Car Fire outside BP Garage.

ON the 28 January 2007, a car turning into the BP garage on the Formby Bypass (A565) roundabout, burst into flames in the late part of the afternoon. Southport Road, one of only three roads into Formby was blocked off by police. Before publication on 29 January, no more information has been released.

Freshfield Animal Rescue Ambulance Stolen

A gang demanded £50 for the keys of a Freshfield Animal Rescue Ambulance full of pets before they drove off on 28 January 2006.

Most of the animals inside where three dogs and two cats were later found on the road, but a large ginger cat is still missing.

The incident happened as the centre's officer dropped his keys during a delivery in Stockbridge Village in Mersesyside.

The local small charity, which is based at East Lodge Farm, Ince Blundell, said that they are:- "Sickened by the gang's actions.

They are also asking for anyone who witnessed the attack and/or knows the whereabouts of the vehicle, to inform Crimestoppers."
