A Years End Message
From The Editor

"HAPPY Christmas to all our
readers. 2006 has been a hard year for the northern side
of Merseyside. Southport has suffered heavily with the
loss of Pleasureland and the Chuewits factory as well as
other businesses. Liverpool and the Southern part of
Merseyside it has been quite the other, as it has been
going from strength to strength as the run up to
Liverpool’s 800th birthday has pushed the city
development on at increasing speed and with 2008 now
only a year off, it is a city on the mend from years of
being overlooked. Whatever 2007 has install, it will be
one of huge interest to us all.
All of us at PCBT Photography wish the
region a fabulous year ahead."

Shopping For Christmas

JUST before Christmas Eve we went
out and about Southport to see what was being bought for
the festive season. We found out that nurses’ costumes
are in for New Years Eve and Christmas week parties.
Wooden building blocks are the classic toy this year and
the Wow camera is the most popular party snapper.

Sefton's gifts pass
on the message
MINT packets have been handed out
to Christmas partygoers in Sefton to help them stay safe
while they are enjoying their festive night-out.
It’s all part of the Christmas Presence campaign from
Sefton Primary Care Trust, Merseyside Police and Sefton
Council. The organisations have come together through
the Safer and Stronger Communities Partnership to
develop a series of striking posters. The images can be
seen on bus shelters and phone boxes around the area,
bearing the message that if you are going to Drink –
Enjoy it – But don’t overdo it.
The mints have information about sensible drinking
printed on them, as well as useful alcohol helpline
phone numbers. The freebies will continue to be handed
out to people visiting some of Sefton’s main nightspots
by a team of promotional staff around Christmas and New
Year. Apart from the giveaways, the team have been
telling people about the extra police officers that are
on patrol over the festive period, with extra attention
paid to taxi ranks to ensure people get home safely
after a night out.
Remember:- DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!
