Wind Damages Property
On Merseyside

LIVERPOOL City Centre on Saturday
Night was cornered off from 5:30pm to around 8:30pm, by
Lime Street Station, after a
massive poster on the office block opposite came loose
and ripped off scaffolding. Firefighters made the
structure safe and workmen returned the following day to
assess the damage.

One
family who witnessed the large poster ripping in the
wind said:- "It was amazing
to see. The wind just got behind it and then it
bulged and ripped. It is lucky that no one was in
injured as far as we know. I just moved the kids
away as fast as I could, just in case any of the
building came away due to the poster flying around like
a large flag."

The wind also left one person with minor
injuries and about eight vehicles damaged when aluminium
sheeting, from the roof of an Aldi supermarket in
Sealand Road Industrial Estate, Chester, landed in a car
park. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spent Saturday
afternoon dismantling the structure to make the roof
safe.
Editorial Note...
SORRY for the delay in running
this weeks edition. As we have a bumper edition with a
few hundred photos in it, it has taken a bit longer than
we thought it would to upload. Back to normal next week.
