Search For A Star 2006
ON 1 September in the Arts Centre
in Southport, the last of the three heats for the North West British
Resorts Search For A Star took place. Amazingly the theatre was left
standing after one of the very few none singing acts took to the
stage. For the second time Nicky Flash from Blackpool took to the
competition spotlight and managed to get the stage in a mess and
left the audience and judges in hysterics. Sadly he did not get
through, but it was a fantastic performance. As for the other acts
they did amazingly well as the night progressed you could feel the
tensions back stage, but it was very friendly with each act
supporting the other, unlike some TV programs you see. Taking to the
stage was the young Chioe Merone who opened the show as the rising
star. Watch this space as I think you will see a lot of this name in
the next few years.
Then it was down to the contestants to do their stuff. In order of
appearance... Michelle Tomlinson, Amee Pope, Paula Dickinson,
Melnine Waite, Sarah Bourchier, Craig Lewis, a band called 'Tripazard',
Barry Briercliffe, Jeni Sully, Becki Bell, Sam Hopper, Nicky Flash
and Lee Bradbury. The night was ended as the judges cast their votes
by the Jill Fielding Band.
Well done to all the contestants including all who did not go
thought to the North West Finals on 21 September 2006 at the
Southport Arts Centre.
