The Night Time
Boom,,, Boom,,, Boom...
RESIDENTS along Sefton and the Wirral coastline have
been hearing, both day and night, a repetative booming
sound. The sound is caused by the construction of the
new wind farm off Crosby & Formby Point.
vibrations are the consequence of resonation created by
the percussion wave, the result of the pile driving to
make the foundations for the wind turbines. These will
stand higher than Blackpool Tower, three miles off
shore. The work will be finished later this week.
Sea Safe Notice
the hot weather, lots of people are heading to the
beach, but do not forget to treat the sea with respect.
This weekend, I spotted an inflatable dingy in the sea
without any anchor and two kids playing in it. Ok, you
would not think a small inflatable craft is a danger,
but in reality it could prove fatal. Thankfully, this
time it wasn't, but do not take the risk.
can quickly find themselves out of their depth, the
craft can get caught in currents and be quickly washed
out to sea or the kids might paddle out too far and the
tide carry them out further, even reach a shipping lane,
but that's just the start of what can go wrong. Remember
when you go to the beach, never use inflatable craft
irresponsibly and always check the tide times.
